Project Details
This one was an emergency clean up for Jaguar Land Rover as glycol had leaked from a feed pipe. It was carried out under full confined space entry. We had to jet the floor with a very low ceiling height, and once cleaned, we carried out a fault finding procedure to find and then secure the leak.
Glycol is used in cars to cool their engines. It can come in many different forms such as water or ethylene glycol and is used to lubricate vehicle parts, coolant systems and hydraulic brake systems. The most common type of glycol used in cars is ethylene glycol which has been noted as being toxic when it comes into contact with humans or other living creatures because it can lead to serious side effects such as kidney and heart failure if ingested.
