Boat Fuel polishing Birmingham
Our fuel polishing service will make sure that your engine gets pure fuel - this will result in much fewer problems and a clean burn of fuel.

Modern boats are great and they're much more efficient in terms of how much fuel they use than they once were. One drawback of this is that lots of unused fuel will reside in your fuel tank and it's prone to contamination. Bugs and other micro-organisms thrive in both diesel fuel and water.
Even worse is the fact that they can actually clog up your fuel filters. Our boat fuel polishing service can clean your fuel and remove these organisms and bugs.
Our boat fuel polishing Birmingham service will make your dirty diesel bug a thing of yesterday. Our polishing service guarantees that your engine is more efficient and it will be cleaner. As a direct result - will be much more reliable.
Keeping your fuel clean will also mean the occurrence of blocked injectors will be less likely to occur. Meaning not only will you save money on costly repairs, you will also save time.
Our boat fuel polishing service will help you eliminate a diesel bug contamination.
Is contamination a big problem? Do I really need your boat fuel polishing system?
Even the tiniest bits of dirt in your fuel is bad for your boats engine. It can and will reduce the life, efficiency and the reliability of your boats engine.
Storing fuel in any tank for long periods of time will more than likely produce particles. Engine and machine failures can occur which will cause things on your boat to fail or not function correctly.
Water, mud and micro organisms are all pollutants and will harm the life cycle of any fuel. Using our boat fuel polishing Birmingham service will halt expensive equipment damage.
What is the "diesel bug"?
Diesel bug is the boating name given to the organisms that form slime in diesel fuels. Diesel bugs are in fact microbial organisms and come in three main varieties where fuel spoilage is concerned. Find out more about the impact of the diesel bug here.
Diesel bug is a problem because there has been a drive to reduce the amount of sulphur in diesel fuel. Sulphur actually inhibits the growth of microbes.
What are the consequences of diesel bug?
Diesel bug can cause several consequences including:
- Reduced power and misfiring of your boats engine
- Blocked fuel filters resulting in frequent costly replacements and repairs
- Wear and tear on your boat engines moving parts and gaskets etc
Fuel polishing
So how do we actually polish and clean your boat fuel? We use expensive and specialist fuel polishing equipment. Our equipment will remove the contents of your boats fuel tank using very fine filters. These filters will separate any dirt and microbes. Once the fuel is purified, we put the polished diesel back in your boats fuel tank.
Your fuel is polished in this three phase process:
- The first stage: First we draw your diesel out of the fuel tank. Our equipment will spin off large solids (dirt, microbes and rust). These are heavier than diesel and drop to the bottom of the collection bowl.
- Second stage: Smaller water droplets will appear at the top surface of our filter. When heavy enough, they will also drop to the bottom of the collection bowl.
- Final stage:: This is the filtration stage. The filters will repel water, remove the contaminants and thus your fuel is separated and cleaned!
